In the frame of 5th Framework Programme of European Union, University of Bialystok was involved in the following projects:

Calculemus – Systems for Integrated Computation and Deduction. Institute of Informatics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. Project’s director in University of Bialystok: dr Andrzej Trybulec.
The primary goal of the project was the development of a new generation of mathematical software systems and computer-aided verification tools requires techniques and expertise from several areas such as deduction systems, computer algebra, artificial intelligence, programme verification tools, and programming language theory. Project completed.

MKM Net – Mathematical Knowledge Management Network. Institute of Informatics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. Project’s director at the University of Bialystok: dr Roman Matuszewski.
The main objectives of the project was to analyse: the socio-economics needs of the stakeholders of in MKM and the requirements on search engines and resource discovery frameworks to provide accurate, relevant and semantically-matched responses. Project completed.

Types – Computer Assisted Reasoning Based in the Type Theory. Institute of Informatics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. Project’s director at the University of Bialystok: dr Andrzej Trybulec.

The aim of the projects was to develop the technology of formal reasoning and computer programming based on the Type Theory, by improving the languages and computerised tools for reasoning, and by applying the technology in several domains such as analysis of programming languages, certified software, formalisation of mathematics and mathematics education. Project completed.
 

Trial Solution – Tools for Reusable, Integrated, Adaptable Learning Systems/ Standards for Open Learning Using Tested, Interoperable Objects and Networking. Institute of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. Project’s director at the University of Bialystok: dr Jaroslaw Kotowicz.
The primary objectives of the project was to use open platforms and tools to develop and than validate a powerful new way of creating, delivering and managing personalised education and training. Project completed.

Servant Project – Domestic Service, One Factor in the Formation of European Identity. Institute of History, Faculty of History and Sociology. Project’s director at the University of Bialystok: dr hab. Cezary Kukło. Project completed.

TCOS Siberia – Terrestrial Carbon Observing System – Siberia. Institute of Chemistry, Faculty of Biology and Chemistry. Project’s director at the University of Bialystok: prof. dr hab. Zdzisław Chilmończyk.
The main goal of the projects monitoring of both greenhouse gases and gaseous organic compounds level in the global dimension.

Nepirc – Innovation Relay Center Poland North-East. Technology Transfer Centre of East. Project’s director at the University of Bialystok: MSc Wacław Białkowski.

Sibac-SPR – Study of the Interaction of the Bioactive Compounds by SPR Imaging System. Institute of Chemistry, Faculty of Biology and Chemistry. Project’s director: dr Ewa Gorodkiewicz.
The main goal of the projects is to expertise in the application of the surface plasmon resonans imaging techniques (SPR) for the invastigation of investigation of proteins and other bioactive compounds.
