Law was awarded the Education Excellence Certificate in the category ‘Excellent Degree Programme’. The Certificate was given by the Presidium of the Polish Accreditation Committee and it confirms the excellence in education. Only 9 different degree programmes including Law were awarded such distinctions.
The Certificate is a result of the programme assessment, which was conducted by the Polish Accreditation Committee in the previous academic year. Education at the Faculty of Law as well as its realisation were appreciated. The degree programme was given not only a positive rating but also a recommendation to award the Education Excellence Certificate. Having become acquainted with the request of the First Section for Humanities of the Polish Accreditation Committee, the Presidium of the Polish Accreditation Committee, which deals with the assessment of the Degree Programme in Law, approved the postulate.
– This is an extremely valuable distinction for the Faculty. The University is the only higher education institution in Poland which was awarded the Certificate for the Degree Programme in Law and the only one in the region which was given the Education Excellence Certificate. This is excellent news for the Faculty of Law, but most of all for our present and future students – admits Professor Mariusz Popławski, the dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Bialystok.
You can read that the degree programmes ‘have been awarded a positive rating under programme assessment valid for 6 years and have been supported by good practices in education quality or by documented, regular achievements of students and graduates’ in the Resolution of the Polish Accreditation Committee.
The Rector of the University of Bialystok is also proud of the Certificate in Law.
The Faculty of Law has been the best ranked faculty of the University, and Law is one of the frequently chosen degree programmes by students from our didactic offer. The assessment of the Polish Accreditation Committee confirmed the high level of education. I am convinced that it will additionally enhance the prestige of Law at the University of Bialystok among the academic environment and candidates – says Professor Robert Ciborowski.
Worth reminding is the fact that it is not the first distinction for this degree programme. In 2012 the Polish Accreditation Committee awarded the Faculty of Law the outstanding rating for education in Law. The previous Minister of Science and Higher Education awarded the Faculty the Certificate for the best degree programme in Poland.
The authorities of the Faculty of Law underline that they put a lot of effort into students practical preparation to work in legal professions. The Faculty has among others the Centre for Judicial Practices, the Students Legal Clinic, the Forensic Science Laboratory, the Bialystok Legal English Centre. Classes preparing for examinations are also organised here.
The Faculty regularly expands its education offer adjusting it to changes on the labour market and economy needs. Apart from 4 existing degree programmes (Administration, Security and Law, Criminology, and Law), the Faculty has launched Law and Taxes in Business (part-time first cycle degree programme) and Tax Consultancy and Revenue Administration (part-time second cycle degree programme).
